A Bumpy Road to Power
Chapter 1082 - 1082
"Taking a flight means using a real name system. With our patrol team of such a high level, even if she flew into the sky, I could have her turn back. It's indeed too risky for her,"
Dirk Carter said while pinching his chin.
Heath Woods nodded and asked, "Then where should we catch her?"
"Go to Mountridge County."
Dirk Carter replied.
Heath Woods realized, "I understand. She used to be in charge of Mountridge County. She still has her disciples there."
Dirk Carter nodded, saying, "Not just disciples, Mountridge County borders Ardmore City in Serenity State. Ardmore City has many harbors with numerous channels for smuggling. Without a doubt, Astrid Giles intends to leave via water."
After finishing their analysis,
Dirk Carter said sternly, "Heath Woods, notify Lance Lane to take the SWAT team and city armed police mobile squad and set out immediately for Mountridge County. Target those towns bordering Ardmore City and inform Elbert Rivers to drive. We'll depart directly from the car."
"Yes! I'll handle it right away!"
After Heath Woods ran off,
Dirk Carter also hurried towards the main gate.
Two minutes later,
Elbert Rivers appeared with the car.
Once inside, Elbert didn't delay, flooring the gas pedal straight toward Mountridge County.
Of course, for this operation, Dirk Carter didn't let Heath Woods inform the County Committee of Mountridge County. That was Astrid Giles's base, and many of the leaders there were closely tied to her.
They also feared that once Astrid Giles was caught, their dirty deeds would be exposed.
Thus, if people in Mountridge County got wind of Dirk Carter's operation, they'd surely tip her off.
And sure enough,
As darkness fell, Dirk Carter reached the highway entrance to Mountridge County, only to encounter a major traffic jam.
Glancing ahead, there was a long line of vehicles.
Uncertain of what had happened up ahead.
At this speed, it would take over an hour to get through the intersection.
Every wasted second meant losing a second of tactical opportunity.
Dirk Carter decisively instructed Elbert Rivers to use the emergency lane to pass through.
Even so, near the intersection, their car was stopped, not by highway toll staff, but by the traffic police of Mountridge County.
Originally, Elbert Rivers had used the tactic of cutting in the line to get through.
Just as he was about to hit the gas,
a motorcycle officer positioned themselves directly in front of the car.
If Elbert wasn't quick to react,
they would have collided.
It was a female officer.
After swiftly stopping the bike, her long, stunning legs swung off effortlessly.
She took off her helmet, allowing her sleek hair to cascade down.
It must be said,
this female officer was quite attractive.
Radiating an air of crisp efficiency.
With an expressionless face, she walked straight to the driver's side window.
"License and registration," she said to Elbert Rivers.
"Officer, we have an urgent matter, please let us through,"
Elbert, knowing he couldn't divulge their mission, feigned pleading.
"I said license and registration,"
the female officer repeated, her face unchanging.
"Give it to her,"
Dirk Carter said to Elbert Rivers.
Reluctantly,
Elbert handed the documents to the officer.
Taking them without even a glance, she said, "Pull over and turn off your engine."
"I've given you the documents, won't you let me go?"
"I said pull over and turn off your engine,"
Like an emotionless machine, the female officer repeated her instructions.
Dirk Carter was anxious.
If they delayed any longer, Astrid Giles might escape.
He rolled down the window, asking the officer, "Excuse me, officer, why are you inspecting every car when there's no accident?"
The officer glanced at Dirk Carter,
and replied harshly, "Just get inspected as told. Why so much talk? Pull over quickly."
Dirk Carter was speechless.
Patted Elbert on the shoulder, saying, "Don't worry about it, break through!"
Elbert didn't have the luxury to worry, swiftly shifting into reverse, ready to bypass the motorcycle ahead.
Seeing this, the female officer realized something was off. Suspecting a possible suspect, she dashed forward, grabbing onto the rear window near Dirk Carter, peering inside, shouting, "Stop the car! Pull over!"
Without an order from Dirk Carter to stop, Elbert didn't hold back, speeding off.
Oblivious that half the female officer's body was clinging to the window.
Dirk Carter couldn't focus on minor details,
grabbing her clothes from the back.
Conveniently seizing the strap of her bra.
With a strong pull inward,
the female officer tumbled and suddenly slid into the car compartment.
Landing directly on Dirk Carter's lap.
One had to admit, this female officer was quite gutsy.
Once inside, she attempted to brace herself against the front car door to rise again.
But Dirk Carter pressed down on her head, thwarting her effort, leaving her sprawled between his legs.
He thought he had subdued her like this.
Unexpectedly, she was quick to act.
Since she couldn't rise, she opened her mouth, biting down hard on Dirk Carter's thigh.
In agony, Dirk Carter released his grip.
With this,
the female officer immediately sat up.
She drew out a baton, pressing it against Dirk Carter, while using her other hand to grip Elbert's shoulder, yelling, "Stop the car! Pull over!"
"Keep driving!"
Dirk Carter instructed.
Elbert only followed Dirk Carter's orders.
Seeing that the two paid no heed to her,
the female officer pulled out pepper spray, aiming at driver Elbert. Dirk Carter warned, "Officer, we're going eighty miles per hour. If you spray it, all three of us will die!"
This warning evidently had an effect.
It made the female officer hesitant.
She angrily snapped at Elbert, "You…you slow down right now!"
"Speed up!"
As soon as she finished speaking.
Dirk Carter directed Elbert immediately.
Elbert responded, "Alrighty."
Accelerating to ninety, the vehicle sped down the road.
At this speed, even disregarding their lives, the officer knew causing a scene could harm pedestrians.
"I can't spray the driver, but I can spray you. I warn you, tell your driver to slow down,"
The officer was furious, shouting at Dirk Carter.
"Miss, you're new to policing, aren't you?"
Dirk Carter calmly asked.
The officer paused.
"What do you mean?" she inquired.
Dirk Carter smiled gently, "The car's space is limited. If you spray me, we'll all be disoriented; how's that different from spraying the driver directly?"
In the moment the officer hesitated.
Dirk Carter made his move.
Quickly seizing the officer's wrist with one hand, the other swiftly snatched the police spray, tossing it out the window.
The officer realized something was amiss.
Dirk Carter's hands formed grabbing motions, lunging toward her chest.
