Dan Tingye didn’t make a sound. He took a step to her side and lowered his eyes to glance at the book she was hugging in her arms. Seeing that it was about cancer pathology, he pressed his brow with his hand.

On his handsome face was a complex expression, like punching a cotton ball—feeling the fire but unable to vent it.

He was worried that she’d be unhappy staying with the Ye Family, worrying for her the whole night, almost unable to resist picking her up to take her home. But here she was, didn’t seem uncomfortable at all—she looked quite happy!

"Are you planning to go out dressed like that with me?"

The heavy closing of the door revealed the owner’s urgency.

Dan Tingye’s tall figure stood alone in the living room, watching her disappearing back, as anger gradually turned into indulgence.

Liking someone is probably just no matter how confused they are, you simply find them adorable...

Because of the previous "error," Meimei was trying to make Dan Tingye laugh with jokes, hoping to cheer him up.

But she talked till her mouth was dry, and Dan Tingye didn’t even crack a smile, making her so frustrated she didn’t want to talk anymore.

Failing to cheer up Dan Tingye, she wasn’t happy either.

"Don’t bite your lip." Dan Tingye glanced side-eye at her, catching sight of her self-punishing behavior and frowned hard.

This was the first time he spoke to her tonight; did it mean he wasn’t angry anymore?

Meimei’s small face instantly brightened, just about to speak, but noticed Dan Tingye had turned his face away coldly, not even looking at her.

What is this, is he happy or not, really hard to please, she’s almost run out of saliva trying to cheer him up!

"There’s a bottle of mineral water under your seat. You can take it out to drink." Dan Tingye glanced at her again, speaking in a bland tone.

The tone was like implying she could drink the water and continue to cheer him up.

Meimei froze for a few seconds, then suddenly turned to look at him, her beautiful big eyes widened in disbelief, blinking at him.

He noticed she was thirsty, how could he not notice she was trying to please him? He obviously knew yet kept a stern face, just reminding her to drink water... Was he deliberately tormenting her?

So... childish!
