Chapter 2787: Chapter 2787: The Secret in His Password Box (4)

"Do you know where they switched to?" Jiang Nan’s gaze went dark, and he practically forced the words out through gritted teeth.

The back side of Dema Mountain was almost a sheer, smooth cliff. In a place this dangerous, she still felt it wasn’t exciting enough and had to change locations. Was she tired of living or what?

The hand at Jiang Nan’s side suddenly clenched into a fist, his knuckles cracking audibly.

"I’ve already sent people to check the surrounding cliffs. As soon as they find any trace, they’ll report back immediately." The assistant finished, then added another sentence.

"Young Master, it’s actually almost dark now. Even if Miss Youyou and the others changed spots, if nothing happened, they should be on their way back. We can wait at the exit of this mountain. Maybe we’ll run into them there."

Dema Mountain wasn’t like other mountains. There wasn’t much developed here; there was only one main road that went straight into the mountain, and to leave, you had to come back the same way.

"..."

Jiang Nan’s eyes flickered. He stood where he was, not moving, staring straight ahead, his gaze deep and shadowed.

The last sliver of sunset slowly faded from the sky. Night unfurled over the land, and soon even distant silhouettes would be impossible to see. Youyou still hadn’t appeared.

Every time he thought about her still being in the mountain somewhere, missing without a trace, Jiang Nan was so furious he wanted to tan her hide.

"Young Master, there’s news!" The assistant walked over to him in delight and handed him the phone. "They just confirmed that Miss Youyou and the others are fine. Their car just broke down temporarily, and everyone was busy fixing it, so they didn’t pick up the calls. Our people have already gotten them into a car and they’re on their way back now."

"..."

Jiang Nan’s long, narrow eyes froze for a moment, as if something in his chest suddenly settled back into place, and along with it, the tautness in his body relaxed.

He turned his tall, slender frame, strode to the car, and drove straight in her direction.

When the two convoys met, the cars in front immediately came to a stop.

The door of a Jeep opened, and Youyou’s pretty figure hopped down. She took big strides toward Jiang Nan’s sports car.

"Why are you here? And with so many people, it looks like some kind of rescue team... ah!"

Before Youyou could finish, Jiang Nan had already gotten out of the driver’s seat. He scooped her up horizontally, carried her around to the passenger side, tossed her in, shut the door, and hit the lock.

Only then did he walk back to the driver’s seat, start the car again, make a U-turn, and drive off.

The sports car shot forward at high speed. Even on mountain roads, the top-tier car glided like a dragon, and was the first to leave the mountainous area.

All the way, Jiang Nan didn’t say a word.

The gloomy air in the car was like the pressure before a storm, suffocating.

Youyou was stunned by his explosive anger, sitting there dumbly for a long time without recovering. Her little head turned toward Jiang Nan, her big eyes blinking innocently as she bit her lip.

What was wrong with him?

He was mad again for no reason, and he really seemed to like losing his temper at her.

She’d been out playing all day, doing nothing but extreme sports. She was exhausted and still couldn’t rest properly—she had to sit here and watch his moods.

After staring at him for a while, Youyou couldn’t hold on anymore and her little head started bobbing.

In less than a minute, she’d fallen asleep leaning against the car window.

Her petite body curled into a little ball. She was still in her climbing gear—crisp, strong, not the least bit feminine.

Yet looking at her tired little face, Jiang Nan couldn’t bring himself to say a single harsh word.

He slammed down on the accelerator as if venting his anger and took her straight to his boxing gym.
