He had heard the gossip news too, but never expected there would be chatting under his jurisdiction, and that it would be caught in the act by the CEO himself.

"The documents for the new development case under the planning department haven’t been delivered to my office yet, how are you being a manager?" Dan Tingye cast a sharp gaze at Meimei, who was trying desperately to distance herself from him.

"CEO, isn’t the submission deadline for the new development case tomorrow?" The manager of the planning department replied, sweating profusely.

"The employees in the planning department have time to chat idly, seems like their workload is still too light. The company’s regulation forbidding overtime due to hard work is now void. Before the end of the workday, I want the new development contract on my desk!"

With that, Dan Tingye’s gaze passed over Meimei curled up in the corner, his palm clenched tightly, and he lowered his gaze, stepping out of the planning department.

"You’ve all heard, if you don’t draft the new cooperation plan today, none of you should expect to leave work!" The manager of the planning department swept the surroundings angrily.

Seeing that Dan Tingye was unaccompanied, he promptly pursued him to escort him.

"Yu Xin, are you okay? Did you get hurt? Let me accompany you to the medical room." Li hurried over after the crowd dispersed a bit, reaching out to support Meimei who was curled up in the corner.

Meimei’s complexion was pale, like a piece of white paper with no hint of color. She was tightly biting her lips, her lips reddened from wear, yet she seemed insensate to pain, staring blankly in the direction where Dan Tingye left.

In her mind, the discussions by the planning department employees kept echoing.

"I’m fine, just a bit of a headache. I’ll go to the medical room on my own, you should hurry and get back to work, or the manager will come urging again." Meimei pushed Li away, forcing a smile.

The petite figure turned, mechanically stepping towards the exit.
