After quickly handing over her tasks, she left the planning department.

With her head down, she walked instinctively until she reached the parking lot and suddenly stopped.

She looked up, saw Tingye’s sports car in its usual spot, and froze.

As soon as she snapped out of it, Meimei panicked and turned to run. In her rushed steps, she accidentally ran into someone.

"Are you okay? How can you be so careless walking? What if you get hurt?" A familiar voice sounded above her.

Meimei froze, looking up to see Jiang Nan’s worried face, and her eyes flickered.

"Jiang Nan, what are you doing here?"

"What else? Looking for you. I heard you got scolded by my brother, cried a lot, and were going home early, so I came to check on you."

Jiang Nan frowned, looking at her swollen eyes. He didn’t need to ask to know she had been crying.

He wanted to say something about Dan Tingye but held back the words on the tip of his tongue.

"My brother just doesn’t know how to be considerate. Don’t take his words to heart. Come on, I’ll take you home." Jiang Nan grabbed her hand and started to lead her away.

After a few steps, Meimei pulled her hand back.

"It’s still work hours. You can’t just leave. I’m fine. I can take a taxi home myself."

"I’ll just drop you off and come back. It won’t take too much time. Look at you, you even bump into people while walking. How can I be at ease with you going alone? If my brother knew, he’d be worried too."
