Chapter 260. Surge in Strength

Chapter 260: 260. Surge in Strength

[Ding. Congratulations on completing the Unknown Chain Quest. Sub quest one. Where is the veil?

[Calculating rewards.]

[Ding. God rank sun elemental spell, Sol Invictus, has been rewarded.]

[Ding. Unknown’s subquest two has been awarded.]

William looked at the rewards with a hint of satisfaction, but he did not let himself dwell on them for long. His attention quickly shifted to Agrath, who lay weak and broken on the ground.

“Where is the carcass of the beast from the veil?” William asked, his voice cold and steady.

Agrath trembled under his gaze. “It is inside my storage ring, my lord,” he replied with difficulty.

William gave a small nod. Without warning, he stepped forward and grabbed Agrath by the neck, lifting him into the air with ease. Agrath struggled weakly, blood spilling from his mouth as his body dangled helplessly. When their eyes met, he understood that his end was near.

At the same time, William prepared to attempt something he had never tried before, an ability granted by the Slave Mark.

He was going to absorb Agrath’s cultivation.

“Absorb his talent,” William spoke calmly.

[Understood.]

The system responded instantly.

As soon as the confirmation echoed in his mind, William closed his eyes and focused. He directed his will toward Agrath’s cultivation, guiding it toward himself.

Almost immediately, he felt something change.

A channel formed between Agrath’s demonic core and his own fusion core, connecting them like a bridge.

In the next instant, a surge of powerful demonic energy began flowing through that connection, rushing toward William’s core.

Agrath sensed it at once. His body began to tremble violently as panic filled his mind. He struggled in the air, his movements growing more desperate with each passing second. A sharp, broken scream escaped his throat as the energy was forcefully drawn out of him.

The flow did not stop. Vast amounts of demonic energy poured into William every second, steadily raising his demonic rank.

The slaves who witnessed this scene felt a deep chill run through them. They watched in horror as Agrath’s body began to change. His skin loosened and sagged, his hair turned brittle and white, and his entire figure began to wither, as if his life was being drained away.

At the same time, William felt the changes within himself.

His demonic core rose from S plus rank to SS rank.

The surge of power did not stop there. As more energy poured in, his core reached SSS rank, and soon after, he broke through into the Ascension Realm.

The moment he crossed that threshold, his body began to transform. His muscles grew denser, his bones hardened, and his entire physique became stronger and more refined. His face sharpened slightly, and his shoulders broadened, giving him a more imposing presence.

Energy filled every part of him. It was almost about to overflow and cause him harm. Since Agrath had been at full divinity. The process was far from over.

William’s cultivation rose again, and this time he stepped into the Divine Spark Realm of demonic power.

He felt a distinct change in his core. Instead of expanding, it began to shrink.

Even though its size decreased compared to his other cores, the energy contained within it became far denser and far more powerful than before.

The transformation continued without pause. His realm advanced further, reaching the Divine Authority stage. His core condensed even more, becoming compact yet filled with immense power.

William clenched his free hand as he felt the strength building inside him.

[Ding!!! Several major breakthroughs were detected. Absolute Adaptation is activated.]

A new change occurred. The overflowing energy within his body began to stabilize itself. Instead of raging wildly, it slowly converged into his core, refining and strengthening it further.

Soon after, William’s realm rose once more, reaching Pseudo Divinity.

A sense of exhilaration filled him as his body and mind adapted to the rapid increase in power. The process of refinement and stabilization continued, shaping him into someone capable of handling this new strength.

He waited for another breakthrough, but after some time, the flow of energy slowed and finally came to a stop.

His cultivation stabilized at Pseudo Divinity.

Around him, the slaves stood frozen in shock. They had just witnessed something terrifying. In only a short span of time, William had completely drained Agrath.

What remained of Agrath was barely recognizable. His body had dried up entirely; he felt like a hollow shell; his life force had been extinguished. William finally released his grip.

Agrath’s lifeless body fell to the ground. His blackened organs crumbled apart like dry leaves and turned into dust before disappearing completely.

William did not feel even a speck of mercy.

He had seen the consequences of Agrath’s actions. The mutated bodies of innocent people, the suffering caused by the demonic cult, and the countless atrocities committed under his influence.

Agrath had been one of the root causes of it all. There was nothing to regret. William turned toward the slaves, who were still staring at him in fear.

“You are all dismissed,” he said calmly.

They did not hesitate. Within moments, everyone scattered, and each of them would need time to process what they had just witnessed.

William then turned his attention to the system. “Show me the talent I obtained from Agrath.”

[Ding. You have gained an A-ranked talent, Overclock Veins.]

William observed the description of the talent.

Its main effect was to provide a temporary enhancement to speed, reaction time, physical strength, and mana capacity. It did not increase one’s rank, but it strengthened the user in multiple aspects at once, allowing them to exceed their normal limits for a short duration.

If he had obtained such a talent in the past, he would have considered it extremely valuable. Now, however, he just found it mildly decent.

Still, it was not useless. The talent would be especially effective if granted to his servants and slaves.

That thought led him to something more important. William realized that it was time to begin building something larger.

He already had a growing number of slaves under his control. He had access to unlimited bland rations within the infinite domain. What he lacked was structure.

He needed to organize them, train them, and unify them under a single command. They needed proper cultivation techniques, suitable spells, and a clear chain of command.

Only then could they become a true force. William silently made a note of this. He would begin working on it soon once he completes the quest related to the veil.

For now, however, his attention shifted back to the reward that mattered the most.

The God rank spell he had just obtained.

Sol Invictus.
