Chapter 58: Chapter 58: A Bed Big Enough for Four and eating all Three at Once!

The carriage rolled to a stop, and Lucien stepped out to find the Blackstone crew loading their carriages.

An Asura worker sat slumped against a wheel, visibly done with life. An Oni woman nearby had simply lain down flat on the grass, four arms spread, staring at the sky like she was contemplating her recent life choices.

"...Is he dead?" Lucien asked, nodding toward the Asura.

"Wishes he was," Borin called back, not even looking up from his notes.

The Oni on the grass groaned. "We reinforced an entire wall by hand today."

"You had a mana drill."

"The mana drill broke an hour in."

"Ypu should’ve told me."

"You said ’figure it out.’"

Borin waved a dismissive hand and walked away.

"Character building."

Lucien went to check on the crew making sure they were alive and after checking on all of them, Lucien found Borin standing slightly apart from them, stroking his beard, with his gaze fixed on the treeline.

"Something up, old man?"

"The sky," Borin said, deadpan, not turning.

Lucien blinked. "...The sky?"

"Yeah, it looks suspicious."

A beat. Then Borin laughed. "I’m messing with you, lad." He finally turned. "But I could’ve sworn someone was watching from the forest earlier. I checked it but nothings there."

Lucien’s expression sobered slightly, though he kept his voice light. "Probably just your imagination, seems age is catching up to you."

"Probably," Borin agreed, stroking his beard again. "Seems like I’m getting old." He glanced toward the estate, then back at Lucien. "Anyway quite the place you’ve got now compared to what it was before."

"Thanks to you, old man, you work is amazing."

"And quite the wives, just like me during my younger years all the female dwarves after my ass." Borin added, grinning.

"Yeah," Lucien said. "I’m pretty lucky, also I don’t believe that old man, make up something better and why we’re they after your ass."

"That you are, lad and that’s a story for another time." Borin clapped him on the shoulder and turned to his crew. "Alright, you lot, up! We’re not sleeping on the client’s lawn!"

The Oni groaned dramatically but hauled herself up, and the crew filed out, carriage creaking down the path.

---

Inside, Evelisse was already glued to the TV, snacks scattered in her usual defensive perimeter.

"THIS IS MY FINAL FORM!" Fridge’s scream bellowed from the screen as he fought a yellow haired monkey.

Lucien paused. "...Didn’t that guy already have a final form?"

"This is his ’final’ final form," Evelisse said, not looking away.

Seraphina laughed. Aurelia frowned, genuinely puzzled. "How many final forms does one person need?"

"As many as the story requires," Evelisse said solemnly.

"...That’s actually disturbingly accurate," Lucien said.

He hugged Seraphina and Aurelia in turn, then leaned down to plant a kiss on Evelisse’s head, earning an outraged shriek about missing "the best part."

---

"Renovation’s finished," he announced. "Come on let’s go see."

They followed him upstairs, and the moment the door opened, all three went quiet.

The room had transformed entirely, soaring ceilings, dark polished wood, magical lighting set into the walls at a soft, warm glow, a small sitting area near a wide window overlooking the garden with a balcony to the side, and a doorway leading into a considerably larger bathroom connection.

Lucien pulled the massive bed frame from his storage ring.

THUMP.

It settled into the center of the room, dominating the space entirely.

Evelisse’s eyes went wide. "...That’s a bed?"

"Yes, built for giant demons and other uses." He said coughing into his fist, muttering the last part.

"It’s quite large, though not the biggest I’ve seen." Seraphina said, cheeks pink remembering the types of beds she saw in certain parts of her clan.

Aurelia looked at the bed, then at Lucien, then back at the bed and finally at his little brother.

"Do you actually think you can handle sleeping between all three of us?"

"Only one way to find out," Lucien said, grinning.

"I KNEW IT!" Evelisse burst out pointing at him.

"Knew what?"

"You’re trying to eat all three meals at once!"

Seraphina made a strangled sound and Aurelia actually laughed outright.

Lucien started pulling his shirt off his lean and defined muscles on full dusplay.

"...Right now?" Evelisse squeaked hugging her chest and going behind Aurelia while drooling at thise muscles.

He paused. "What?"

"You just said we’d find out!"

"I’m going to shower, Eve, I don’t like feeling dirty."

"Oh."

"Get your mind out of the gutter, you glutton."

"You were the one talking about eating three meals!"

"That was your metaphor!"

"You two are tiring, honestly." Aurelia said, already walking off toward the stairs and to the training room as Seraphina followed behind her also sneakily looking at Luciens muscles and his now on full display little brother.

"No need to peek, you can look outright, Sera, you’re my wife." Lucien voice came from the room making her speed up to the stairs, her face red.

Lucien chuckled at his shy succubus wife, before heading to the shower as Evelisse left the room after getting her fill of him.

---

He showered quickly, changed, and headed down to find Seraphina working over a pot that smelled incredible, Emberwing Curry, spiced with ember peppers and moonroot, Crystal-Grain Flatbread warming nearby, Honeyed Moonberries with Mana Cream chilling for dessert.

He helped her finish the last touches before they left it simmering and joined the others in the living room.

---

"So what’d you buy?" Evelisse demanded immediately.

"Did you find everything?" Seraphina added.

"The weapon?" Aurelia asked, more direct.

"One question at a time, girls." Lucien said, laughing, and started pulling items from his ring.

For Aurelia, the Featherweight Vestplate, mana recovery items, weapon maintenance supplies, healing and restoration materials, the Protection Array and the various weapon manuals he bought.

She examined each piece critically, immediately recognizing the quality. "You spent way too much getting so many things and mostly of rare rank."

"Probably."

"Lucien."

"You’re my wife, so I can spoil you how I want, okay."

That stopped her for a moment. "...Thank you," she said quietly.

For Seraphina, the Appraisal skill, alchemy ingredients, purification crystals, quality containers, the Moonveil Robe and a few other stuff.

She stared at the pile, overwhelmed, and hugged him tight. "Thank you."

"You don’t need to thank me, you’re my wife."

"I do, husband"

For Evelisse, the Mana Sight skill, the cultivation concealment skill, various cultivation resources which she looked quite pained to accept making him laugh a little at her reluctance, and then the Guard Bracers.

She glanced at the other piles, then held out her hand expectantly. "Where’s mine?"

"You already got yours."

"...Where, I don’t see anything good besides the skills?"

Hearing this he pulled out a massive bag of snacks.

Her eyes sparkled instantly as she jumped on him. "...I forgive you."

She reached up and patted his head, the exact gesture he usually gave her, delivered with a suspicious glint in her eye.

"Good boy."

"What do you think you are doing Eve?"

"Petting you, like how you pet me?" She said acting confused while smiling knowingly.

He caught her wrist, pulled her in, and kissed her properly, their tongues fighting as he carried on until she went slightly breathless and her knees gave out as she collapsed on his lap.

Aurelia watched with intrigue before turning back to the manuals he gave her, as Seraphina failed successfully to cover her eyes, gaps in between her fingers and her face red.

"That’s for the head pat, and good girl." he said patting her head.

She swatted at him, red-faced, retreating to the couch as she turned the TV on, having no comeback.

[Ding!]

The chime rang quietly overhead, three wheels spinning above the girls’ heads, unseen by them.

’I’ll check it later, when I’m alone, for now my wives are more important.’ Lucien thought, letting it play out unattended.

---

Dinner arrived shortly after, and the curry lived up to its smell.

"The spice hits first," Evelisse announced through a mouthful, "but there’s this sweetness right underneath."

"The ember peppers," Seraphina said, pleased.

Aurelia took a second helping, then a third.

"You like it?" Lucien asked.

"Very much," Aurelia said.

Evelisse turned to stare at her. "...You’re complimenting food, who are you and what have you done with Aurelia?"

"Yes?"

"You." Evelisse pointed dramatically. "You who never compliment my divine snacks."

"Your snacks are mostly sugar."

"That’s why they’re good!"

Seraphina laughed, and Lucien watched Aurelia reach for a fourth serving, filing away the detail with quiet satisfaction.

’Spicy food for my spicy wife, huh, I’m definitely making her something properly intense when I get back from the dungeon.’ He thought stating at her eat away.

---

After dinner, everyone drifted their separate ways Aurelia toward the training room, Seraphina settling in beside Evelisse for more TV.

"He’s about to unlock the legendary friendship technique," Evelisse announced, practically vibrating.

Aurelia paused in the doorway. "What is a friendship technique?"

"Don’t ask," Lucien said.

"Why?"

"You’ll only get more confused."

"I’m cultivating," Lucien added, heading for the stairs.

Evelisse groaned. "How do you sit still for hours?"

"Practice and patience."

"I’d rather fight ten wolves."

"You say that now, but we’ll see when I drag you for training again." Aurelia called from the basement stairs.

---

The new master bedroom sat quiet and dark, the massive bed a looming shape against the far wall.

Lucien closed the door, settled cross-legged on the mattress, and pulled up the system as he didn’t bother switching on the light, thanks to his night vision trait.

He pulled up the system and checked for investment logs in the investment tab.The interface bloomed to life in the darkness in front of his eyes.

Lucien blinked at the last line.

’...Not bad, but lately she has been getting the lowest Multiplier, did she upset the system somehow, wouldn’t be surprised if she did.’ He thought jokingly while shaking his head and smiling remembering what she did.

Then his eyes drifted to the rewards, lingering on them. He sat with it a moment, curiosity sparking through the exhaustion, at what he got and with these multipliers increasing, he better have got good stuff.

’Now time to check out the good stuff.’
