10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 186: Call
Amon stepped through the teleportation portal with Seraphina.
The familiar sensation of spatial distortion washed over his body.
His feet touched the solid floor of the Vale family’s basement.
Amon blinked several times as his eyes adjusted to the change in lighting.
He expected to see an empty room but he Marielle was standing directly in front of them.
She had an unusually excited expression on her face.
The moment she saw them, her eyes practically lit up. “You two are finally back!”
Before either of them could respond, Marielle grabbed both Amon’s and Seraphina’s hands.
“Come with me!”
Amon barely had time to react before she started pulling them toward the stairs. “Wait, what?”
Seraphina looked just as confused. “Aunt Marielle, what happened?”
“I’ll explain everything.”
Marielle’s excitement only seemed to increase as she dragged them through the hallway.
Amon and Seraphina exchanged a confused glance before simply following her.
When they finally entered the main living room, Amon stopped walking. ℴ
His eyes widened. “Holy fuck.”
The entire room looked like a scholar’s nightmare.
Books were scattered across the floor, several documents were spread across the couches.
Stacks of papers had been placed on almost every available surface.
The ancient page itself was lying carefully on the ground in the center of the room.
The cylindrical tube Amon had originally found with it was sitting nearby.
Amon slowly looked around.
“What happened here?”
Marielle ignored the question completely. “I found something fascinating.”
Seraphina looked around the room. “You call this fascinating?”
Marielle nodded proudly.
“Absolutely.” She hurried toward the cylindrical tube and picked up its cover. “This is what I found.”
Amon walked closer while Seraphina followed beside him.
Marielle held the object up for them to see. “You remember the woman on the surface of this tube?”
Amon looked at her curiously. “Of course.”
Marielle’s excitement returned. “She’s important.”
Amon frowned. “How important?”
Marielle looked directly at him. “She was the first Elven Awakener in this world.”
Amon blinked his eyes in surprise. “What do you mean by the first Elven Awakener?”
Marielle carefully placed the cover back on the table before continuing.
“The elves weren’t originally part of our world.”
Seraphina blurred out. “What?”
Marielle nodded. “They came here through the Dungeons.”
Amon remained completely silent. That information immediately caught his attention.
Marielle continued explaining while walking around the scattered documents.
“According to what I found, the first elves arrived in this world through one of the ancient Dungeons. Their existence here wasn’t natural, at least not in the way most historians believe.”
She picked up another document covered in notes. “The first elf to awaken in this world eventually became the first Elven Queen.”
Amon’s eyes narrowed further. “The first queen…”
Marielle nodded enthusiastically. “Exactly.”
Amon thought about it for a moment before asking, “Was she part of the Arannis family?”
Marielle shook her head.
“I’m not sure.” She frowned slightly. “The records from that period are incredibly incomplete. Some names have been erased.”
Amon glanced toward the ancient page.
Marielle suddenly pointed toward it. “But that’s not even the most interesting part.”
She crouched beside the page. “What I found suggests that the first Elven Awakener may have been captured during the Thousand-Year War.”
Amon’s expression immediately became serious. “How?”
Marielle carefully ran her finger along one of the damaged sections.
“The vampires discovered that the elves possessed a unique connection to the Spirit World.” She paused.
“Instead of trying to kill her, they used that connection against her.”
Amon mumbled his own theory. “They trapped her inside the Spirit World?”
Marielle nodded slowly. “That’s what it seems like.”
Her excitement faded slightly as she looked at the damaged text. “But I’m not completely sure what happened after that.”
Seraphina, who had been listening silently until now, looked impressed. “Aunt Marielle, how did you find all of this?”
Marielle immediately straightened her back.
She puffed out her chest proudly. “Do you think I got so many prizes in history for nothing?”
Seraphina smiled. “I guess not.”
Amon ignored their exchange and looked down at the ancient page.
His eyes moved across the damaged writing as he remembered something. “What about Elowen?”
Marielle let out a disappointed sigh. “I didn’t find much.”
Amon frowned. “Really?”
Marielle walked toward the edge of the ancient page and crouched down.
Her fingers hovered over a damaged section of writing without touching it. “There is one thing.”
Amon moved closer. “What?”
Marielle lowered her voice. “There is a passage here that might be related to her.”
Amon walked towards her. “What does it say?”
Marielle studied the faded words for several seconds before carefully translating them.
“It isn’t really written like a historical record.” She swallowed slightly. “It feels more like a call.”
Amon frowned. “A call?”
Marielle nodded.
Then she slowly read the translated passage.
“To the one who sleeps beyond the silver veil, hear the voice beneath the silent stars.”
“When the moonless tide reaches the Sealess Sea, open your eyes and remember the name that was taken from you.”
“The door without a key shall open once more, and the lost shall return to the place where the first song was heard.”
The room became completely silent as Amon stared at the page.
Something about those words made his skin crawl.
‘…Sealless Sea.’ He had heard something similar before.
His thoughts immediately returned to the Spirit World.
The Sealess Sea…
Amon’s expression became increasingly serious. ‘…That sounds a lot like the Spirit World.’
Seraphina looked between the two of them. “Did you find anything else?”
Marielle shook her head.
“Not yet.” She carefully looked over the damaged page.
“I’ll need more time. There are sections I haven’t translated properly, and some of the writing is damaged beyond recognition.”
Amon remained silent as he slowly looked at Marielle and Seraphina.
“I’m tired.”
Both women looked at him.
“I think I’ll sleep early tonight.”
Seraphina immediately looked at him with concerned expression. “Are you alright?”
Amon smiled lightly. “I’m fine.”
He didn’t want to explain the thoughts running through his mind yet.
There were too many unknowns, and he needed to confirm something before saying anything.
Seraphina continued watching him for a moment before eventually nodding. “Alright.”
Amon turned around and walked toward the stairs.
He climbed to the second floor and entered his room.
The moment he closed the door behind himself, Amon drew in a deep breath.
He stood there quietly for several seconds before taking a deep breath as he reached into his space bracelet.
A large crystal slammed on the ground with an elf remained trapped, suspended in silence.
Amon stared at her through the transparent surface. “I hope I’m not wrong.”
He walked toward the bed and he sat down and crossed his legs.
Amon closed his eyes as the room became silent.
He took a slow breath before beginning to circulate the Spirit Sovereign Scripture through his body.
Somewhere in the deepest part of his mind, one question remained.
‘…Who exactly are you?’
