Amon continued walking behind the two men, keeping a reasonable distance between them.

The crowded street made it easy to follow them without attracting attention, but something about the situation continued to bother him.

People were everywhere yet almost nobody seemed to notice the two men.

Amon narrowed his eyes as a woman walked directly past them without even turning her head.

’...They’re almost invisible to everyone else.’

It wasn’t true invisibility.

Amon could clearly see them, but the way everyone around them behaved made it seem as though their minds were simply refusing to acknowledge their existence.

’Do they have some kind of magic that makes people ignore them?’

Amon continued following them while keeping his expression calm.

The two men eventually turned into a narrow alley.

Amon followed after them but slowed down when he realized that the alley was completely deserted.

There were no shops or pedestrians, not even a street lamp illuminating the deeper parts of the alley.

’That’s suspicious.’

Amon glanced around before reaching into his storage bracelet.

He pulled out the Shadowveil Cloak.

Considering that he had no idea what these two men were capable of, following them without protection would have been reckless.

Amon quickly draped the cloak over his body.

The moment he activated it, his figure disappeared, not even his shadow remained visible.

Amon looked down at his hands. ’I’m literally invisible.’

A faint smile appeared on his face as he continued forward.

The two men eventually reached the end of the alley before suddenly stopping. Both of them looked around and one of them looked directly at him.

His heart skipped slightly. ’Fuck.’

Amon quickly moved behind a nearby stone pillar and remained completely still.

The two men continued scanning the area as one of them looked directly toward the pillar.

Amon held his breath and fortunately, the man eventually looked away.

’Thank God.’

Amon waited until they turned around before slowly peeking out from behind the pillar.

His eyes widened. The two men were standing beside a large metal cover embedded into the ground.

One of them crouched down and grabbed the edge with his bare hand.

With almost no effort, he lifted the heavy cover.

Amon stared. ’...What the hell?’

The first man climbed inside and the second followed him a few seconds later.

Once both had entered, the metal cover was pulled back into place. The alley immediately became silent again.

Amon stood there for several seconds as his eyes remained fixed on the sewer entrance.

’Should I follow them?’

He looked at the cover before he looked toward the empty alley.

He could investigate but he had no idea what was waiting underneath the city.

He didn’t even know whether those two men were even humans.

Amon finally shook his head.

’No.’ He turned around. ’I’m not risking my life on my first day in the capital.’

There was nothing wrong with investigating suspicious activity, but blindly walking into an unknown underground area was another matter entirely.

Amon memorized the location before leaving the alley. ’I’ll remember this place.’

He walked back toward the main street.

Once he reached the crowded area, Amon removed the Shadowveil Cloak and stored it inside his bracelet.

He continued walking toward the restaurant while his mind remained occupied with the two men.

’If they’re vampires...’

Amon’s eyes narrowed slightly. The thought had only taken a few minutes to form.

The strange blood-like aura, their ability to go unnoticed, unnatural strength and most importantly, his Moonlit Senses.

’The description specifically mentioned an ancient vampire lineage.’ Amon’s expression became serious. ’That can’t be a coincidence.’

If those two men really were vampires, then another question immediately came to mind.

’What are vampires doing inside a human city?’ Amon’s thoughts quickly connected the pieces.

The war between humans, elves, and vampires is going to happen soon.

If vampires had secretly entered the capital, then they probably weren’t here for sightseeing.

’Could they be setting something up?’ Amon frowned.

He briefly considered reporting the sewer entrance to the authorities but the thought lasted only a few seconds.

’No.’ He didn’t know how trustworthy the city’s authorities were.

If someone within the government was cooperating with the vampires, reporting the location could make everything worse.

More importantly, Amon didn’t want to put Seraphina in danger because of his own impulsiveness.

’I should find a way to tell Nadya about this.’

She was far more experienced with matters involving the city’s higher powers.

Amon could let her decide what should be done. By the time he returned to the restaurant, only a few minutes had passed.

He walked back toward the table and sat down with a casual smile.

Marielle immediately looked at him. "Where did you go?"

Amon shrugged. "I was just nearby."

Marielle stared at him as her expression made it obvious that she didn’t believe him.

"Be careful." Her voice was more serious than before.

Amon raised an eyebrow. "Did something happen?"

Marielle nodded. "There have been quite a few murder cases in the city recently."

Seraphina frowned. "Isn’t that normal in a city with six million people?"

Marielle gave her a small smile.

"It would be if the murders weren’t connected." She placed the menu down. "Every victim had their heart removed."

Amon raised his brow. "Serial killer?"

Marielle nodded.

"It could be one person." She paused. "Or several."

Before Amon could respond, the waitress returned with their food.

Several plates were placed across the table.

The main dish consisted of thick pieces of roasted monster meat covered in a dark, glossy sauce, surrounded by grilled vegetables and crispy potatoes.

Steam rose from the plates, carrying a rich aroma that immediately made Amon’s stomach growl.

There were also several smaller dishes containing fragrant rice, roasted mushrooms, and a bright red sauce that smelled surprisingly spicy.

Amon picked up his fork and spoon, took the first bite and his eyes widened slightly.

"...This is really good."

Seraphina immediately tried some herself and her eyes brightened. "It really is."

Marielle smiled as she watched them.

"I told you."

The three continued eating while the atmosphere gradually became more relaxed.

After a while, Marielle leaned back slightly. "Do you two know where you can go to have some fun around here?"

Amon looked at her. "Are you going to tell us?"

Marielle chuckled. "Why not?"

Amon suddenly became curious. He quietly activated one of his system skills.

A faint system window appeared before his eyes.

---

[Target: Marielle Vale]

[Desire Level: 100%]

[System Recommendation: Eager to be used.]

---

Amon stared at the notification as his lips twitched. ’...Why are all of Seraphina’s family members perverts?’

He quietly dismissed the notification before anyone noticed.

Marielle, however, suddenly became serious. "There is something else you two should know."

Amon and Seraphina both looked at her.

Marielle placed her hands on the table. "You need to be careful with the politics inside the Royal University."

Her playful expression had completely disappeared.

Amon leaned back slightly and listened to what she had to say and Seraphina did the same.

Marielle looked at them and said in a calm voice.

"Frankly, most of the Royal University is filled with racists and people who discriminated based on background."

She looked at them. "And that includes the Crown Prince as well."
